中学生,欢迎! Middle School Students Welcome!

We have an exciting 2015 semester 1!  Click on the link below for an overview of our unit plan:

Middle School Mandarin semester 1 2015

Our MYP question ‘How does connecting with others open my world?’ will be asked and reflected upon for every task.  As springboards to our tasks, we will also look at how others ‘connect’ and open their worlds: Sophie Koh’s China Tour, The world’s biggest human migration during Chinese New Year, and Japanese students’ free hugs campaign in Beijing!

Lots to keep us busy and open our eyes to the amazing big world out there!  We have lots of projects! Not only do we need to learn the content to do these projects, but we also have to learn how to manage our Chinese character learning, how to remember our characters, how to type in Chinese for our blog, how to share our learning with people in China, how to politely make connections with people in China, and we’ve got to listen and understand, speak, read and write Mandarin Chinese!

We will tackle each organisation skill and task together as a group.  Our classroom will be a safe, fun learning environment where we can be risk takers to make funny mistakes and gain the confidence to learn from them!

Blog posts will be added with more info about our learning tools and tasks as the semester progresses. Looking forward to the semester ahead…

Kind Regards,

Ms Donna Royle
