Kids have been collecting seeds from the fruit and veggies that they eat, and experimenting with what they can get to grow.  Growing vegetables in Chinese is 种蔬菜 zhòng shūcài.

A self-led, engaging, in the moment activity that they do every day, tending to the seedlings, and planting any new seeds.  Surely does make for calm happy kids! So we can say 种蔬菜让我们开心 zhòng shūcài ràng wǒmen kāixīn, ‘Growing vegetables makes us happy!’
