I am really excited to be developing and co-delivering ‘Athletics Play’ through ‘Mandarin’! The program uses the ‘Athletics Play’ program developed by Athletics Australia and the Australian Sports Commission for Australian Schools, but using simple but communicative Mandarin!

The first course will be run term 4 (2014) at the Darwin Languages Centre, Nemarluk Drive, Ludmilla, Tuesdays 4-6pm, starting October 14th for a 9 week course.  The course will be suitable for primary aged children, grades 1-6.

It will be co-delivered with a qualified Athletics Coach.  The idea is that children will receive the fundamentals in Athletics (content) through simple Mandarin (language) using the ‘Content and Language Integrated Learning’ (CLIL) philosophy.  Focus will be 50/50 on content and language.  A 2 in 1 course, and you can use your sports vouchers for this course with the Darwin Language School too!
